UPS Systems
Compare industrial, transformer-based online and high-frequency online UPS families for critical AC loads. Start with the input/output phase arrangement, load demand and required battery autonomy.

Choose the UPS Family
FBDU-QI · Industrial UPS
For important industrial AC loads. Input/output isolation and front access support industrial installation and maintenance. The family lists IGBT/DSP control, N+X parallel operation, cold start, three-stage charging and a maintenance bypass.
FBDU-Q · Transformer-based Online UPS
For industrial, control and data loads, with rack or tower configurations. Options include 12-pulse rectification, N+1 operation, cold start and battery/charging selection.
FBDU-GP · High-frequency Online UPS
For online AC backup in rack or tower form. Features include DSP control, touchscreen status, 50/60 Hz recognition, cold start, EPO and ECO modes. Output isolation transformer availability depends on configuration.
Capacity & Phase Arrangements
| Family / format | Input → output | Listed capacity |
|---|---|---|
| FBDU-QI | 1-phase → 1-phase or 3-phase → 1-phase | 1–30 kVA |
| FBDU-QI | 3-phase → 1-phase | 40–120 kVA |
| FBDU-Q · rack | 1-phase → 1-phase or 3-phase → 1-phase | 1–20 kVA |
| FBDU-Q · tower | 1-phase → 1-phase or 3-phase → 1-phase | 1–30 kVA |
| FBDU-Q · tower | 3-phase → 1-phase | 40–120 kVA |
| FBDU-Q | 3-phase → 3-phase | 10–400 kVA |
| FBDU-GP · rack / tower | 1-phase → 1-phase | 1–10 kVA |
| FBDU-GP · rack / tower | 3-phase → 1-phase | 10–30 kVA |
| FBDU-GP · rack | 3-phase → 3-phase | 10–30 kVA |
| FBDU-GP · tower | 3-phase → 3-phase | 10–200 kVA |
Capacity belongs to the stated family, phase arrangement and format. Confirm nominal input/output voltage and frequency for the selected model. A 400 kVA range does not apply to every FBDU family or rack configuration.
Battery, Bypass & Monitoring
- Size the battery for the actual load and required autonomy; there is no single backup duration for all systems.
- FBDU-QI lists a maintenance bypass. Confirm bypass arrangements for other families in the selected configuration.
- FBDU-Q lists RS232 / RS485, Modbus and dry contacts, with SNMP available as an option.
- FBDU-GP lists RS232 / RS485 and dry contacts, with optional SNMP. Battery string selection must be confirmed for the chosen model.
Station UPS systems that share a DC-system battery are a separate configuration. Do not apply that arrangement automatically to QI, Q or GP families. For common station supplies, see the Integrated AC/DC system.
Selection Questions
Are UPS capacities expressed in kW or kVA?
The family capacity selections on this page are in kVA. Provide load kW and power factor as well; do not treat kVA and kW as equal.
Is the battery included in every quoted UPS?
Battery type, capacity, cabinet arrangement, charging requirements and supply scope are confirmed in the configuration proposal.
Can every UPS share a station DC battery?
No. Shared-battery station UPS is a distinct arrangement. Confirm isolation, DC voltage, protection and compatibility before selecting it.
